Printing from Vista To Shared Printer (on XP)
 

Currently have an xp desktop with a shared printer that I have been using to print from my laptop for a while.

I just added a new laptop that has Windows Vista preinstalled.

Is there anything I need to do to print from this Vista laptop to the XP machine?

I have tried/researched this before when Vista was brand new and from what I remember vista altered the TCP/IP stack not sure how to fix this though..

install the drivers for vista on the laptop

No problems here with printing from Vista. Printer is, like in your case, shared on XP machine.

If I remember correctly, all I did was use the Add a printer in Control Panel>Printers window. It automatically transfered the drivers from XP machine and that was it.
