Big 1/2 NL Pots

What's the largest 1/2 NL pot you've seen? I watched a $1,000+ pot at the Venetian last Thursday night.

UTG raised to $20, and three players called, including the SB. Flop came down AK8, all diamonds, and the SB pushed all in for $420 with a baby flush (I think he had 7d5d). The original raiser (who had top two pair with AK) folded, but the next player called. He had also had AK, and he had over $500 behind. The last player called with her remaining $120 or so, holding the Qd for the nut flush draw.

The baby flush held up, and the winner dragged a pot of around $1,050. So this guy called a UTG raise of $20 from out of position with a suited-one gap hand, overbets the resulting pot on the flop by $340, and winds up with the largest win in a 1/2 game that I've ever seen.

My bf won a $1,000+ pot at MGM with 5d7d! He hit the nut straight and two other players each had a 5 for the 6-high straight. Pretty nice. I always play 5d7d now

Took down $1,180 pot from the hottest woman I've ever played against at the Borgata about 3 months ago. I forget the betting sequence but I pushed about $400 with the nut flush on the river and she snap called with top set. Ship it............can I have your number?

I won a $730 pot or so at Venetian's 1/2 in April from someone holding 7d5d.

Completed A5o from the SB in a near family pot, checkraised some guy on a J55 flop and pushed over his 3-bet, he talked himself into calling by saying "he would've played AA or KK like that too"... sure thing buddy.

I have just started playing 1/2 NL @ FW and I pretty much suck at NL.

There are two limpers and I raise to $15 with my AQ, 3 callers (pot is $63).

Flop is A99. Check, Check, I bet $30 - 3 callers (pot is $183).

Turn is a Q. Check, check, I check (I think there is a 9 out there), button bets $90, call, raise to $180, I fold, button re-raises to $270, long pause then call, really long pause then call all-in for $75 more (pot is $978) !!!

River is not an A (thank goodness), check, button bets all-in for $450, call ($1,878 total in pot).

Button turns over QQ for full house. Big stack turns over K9 and all-in guy turns over 97... My top two were good for fourth place.

It's a bad beat story, but what the hell...I was in a 1/2 hand where a pot of 1600 went down.

I was A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the Buton with $480 on a GREAT table. very aggressive donks with lots of chips. Anyway, early position donk bets $17, four callers, and I call

Pot: $102
Flop came:
J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Original better fires out $25, three fold, and a raise to $75. I smooth call, original raiser calls.

Turn:
2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I hate this card, but nope, orginal raiser fires out $100, MP Call!, I shove. First guy calls and so does the second!!
Both of them had me covered!

Final Pot ~1600

(first guy had K high flush and the other guy had two pair, caught his boat on the river)

All I could do was buy back in and take back $300 from that donk before he left. But pots (and plays) like that are why I love 1/2 NL live!

Re: Big 1/2 NL Pots

I won a pot of about $900 once. I have QQ at Firelake (OK). A real LAG raises to $15 UTG. I have QQ and I pop it to $40 to isolate mainly after a pretty new guy calls in the middle, they both call.

Flop is AKQ 2 spades.I'm not crazy about this flop, but we'll see. LAG guy bets $100. He has a lot behind, I have him covered (I have like $800 in front of me), tightish guy folds. We have $120 preflop, plus his $100. I figure he could be on AK with the ace of spades here, but maybe he has AA/KK, but if he has AK with the spade I gotta make him pay, so I push, he insta calls with the hand I thought, it holds up. SHIP IT!
