NL 10 How to win the maximum/ lose the minimum with top set?

Just sat down on tables and no reads on players. KK from small blind with limpers, so raise it up to 0.70. Nothing wrong there I think.

1 caller and top set = nice. Lately I have been flopping top set with 1 caller a lot but caller folds to my c-bet of around 3/4 of the pot. Thinking of that I slowplay topset here, although it's a coordinated board. Donk-move? What would you do here? Make a smal/medium/big c-bet? And on a uncoordinated rainbow flop? Would you then slowplay topset against unknown villain?

I'd bet the flop at least 2/3 of pot. I'd rather win a small pot now than lose a monster when all of the obvious draws complete...like the straight on the river...

Turn bet is fine IMO.

River, I'd check and only call a very small bet.

The river is excactly the reason i c-bet a flop that dangerous 100% of the time, any spade, Q or ace will kill your action.

I always c-bet when i have a set HU. I'd fire about $1.40 on the flop and go from there.

There are two reasons to never, ever slowplay on a board like this.

1) There are so many cards that can come to either beat you or scare you off your hand or your action.

2) If these scare cards don't help your opponent, they will likely terrify him and you'll make no money.

3) If your opponent is looking for one of these cards to fall, that means he's likely to pay a bet on the flop. So there's even less reason to slowplay because your bet's more likely to get called in the first place.

Translation: I can't count, and bet the flop.

If you have AA and the flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], that's a reasonable spot to slowplay. What can anyone have? This flop is wetter than a .... well, it's very wet. Wet means bet.

Awesome. lol. The last time I checked that flop, my opponent shoved with 77. But he was short. I usually bet my AAA FWIW.

Since this is the perfect flop for a standard c-bet (missed or hit), I bet here most of the time with AA. Otherwise your c-bets and slowplays become much less effective.

I agree. It's just so hard to come up with a good spot to slowplay a set...
