NL$50: unsure of tihs SC hand

UTG is nitty. Should this be a flop fold instead of call since there probably aren't implied odds if I hit my straight unless he has AA/KK and if he has AA it's going to be hard to catch an Ace anyways. Feels weak folding but raising and calling both seems bad...

nitty raises from UTG... I fold preflop. This hand gets you in trouble against his range, like this exact hand... as played fold the flop.

[/ QUOTE ]against his range this is exactly the hand I want to play. He's nitty and doesn't like folding overpairs/sets, so if I hit I'll be paid.

You got a pretty good flop for your hand. Why on earth are you folding. If villain has AK or AQ he's going to pay you off if you make your straight. Even more so if he flopped set.

If you aren't willing to play this flop, you shouldn't have called in the first place.

If a nine or an Ace hits on the turn everyone and his grandma will know that there's a straight lurking somewhere. That means no action.

And if a blank comes you will face an ugly pot bet...

bottom line: i don't think it is particulary wrong to fold on the flop
