New Orleans, What to do?

What are the best poker rooms in New Orleans? Closest to Bourbon St? Will I need to drive to get there or will a taxi be ok?

What about Bourbon St? Best Restaurants, Bars, Strip Clubs, etc?

I am going with 8 friends for a bachelors weekend to see the LSU vs. South Carolina game. We are staying on Bourbon St. Sept 20-23. I play mostly mid limit and will jump to high limit if I think the game is good. I would like a place with good limit games and free drinks.

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated?

Harrah's is walking distance from the French Quarter and Bourbon street, and the games tend to be good despite the high rake.

Strip Clubs I found to be disappointing - I prefer mileage and from what I could see, air dances.

You're better off going into the joint with the mechanical bull and helping to goad the South Carolina and LSU students who will inevitably get on and like strip down to bras while riding.

As for food, you are in the right place. Make sure to get oysters and crawish at either Acme or the less crowded (but still high quality) Felix's right across the street. You are also practically obligated to eat begniets at Café du Monde one morning while you are there.

I like to eat high end for dinner, so I would recommend places like Dominique's, Peristyle, Bayona.

Irene's is also nice and not as expensive, but very crowded and they do not take reservations. There is a good bar where you wait, however, complete with entertaining piano player.

Not unless Katrina washed it a couple of miles--but an excellent restaurant.

My favorite NO restaurant, and in the FQ, is Antoine's . Expensive and a jacket is required. I also like K-Paul's and second the earlier recommendation of Acme Oyster House.
