decided to get tricky w/AA against a good TAG - bvb, oop, 175bb deep

villain is ApobatesRacer. very good tag, possibly 2p2. he's 3-bet my first sb open to which I folded, this is the 2nd time i'm stealing against his bb from the sb. no other history.

he's 21/17/4.

Hero ???

not the best flop. what's the best plan of action here? lead with the intention of 3-betting all in? check/raise? (his c-bet % is 76)

I almost always 4 bet preflop here.

C/r small seems fine or donk it.

ugh 175bb deep oop bvb is such a bad spot to slowplay aces preflop for so many reasons IMO.

I'd c/r as played. If I was villain and I had been 3betting pre a fair amount and I got c/r'd here, I'd assume a range of random flush draws/KJ/KQ/QJs/AT/TT/stubborn 77-99/air, with air not being all that uncommon. You have a hand a lot stronger than that range, so I think you have a good chance of getting the action you want.

I don't like donking bc this villan will make thin value pushes w hands you have crushed (which you don't wanna call). I think I prefer a CR to about 2.5x to 3x. Tough spot though with stack sizes. If he checks behind the flop, I think I prefer to play pot control for the rest of the hand.

I have no intention of folding this hand.

I raise more the first time around and I definitely reraise the second time around.

I read the title and I thought it was bad. As is, I'd probably check raise as opposed to b3b ai. leading the flop allows him to get away easily some of the time, especially because his range isn't just limited to big hands it sounds like, and you dont really want to it all in on this flop, since his range for calling your b3b is probably qq, kk, aa, big draw with clubs, and 1010. I'd much rather let him bluff off chips to me and give him room to hang himself. c/c flop and c/r turn might be a better way to get money in, since it looks more like you're frustrated with him playing back at you than anything else. Next time, especially with the recent history i think you should think for a second and make it like 75 pf and try and get him to shove on top. At the same time, i hate 4betting with aces, especially if i haven't een particularly active at a table.

I like to check raise here because it looks like a draw. I also check raise alot of my draws when I'm oop so check raising is almost my default line here.
