depends on where you are playing. Atlantic City you cannot live straddle.

Only found a couple places in SoCal where the straddle is not live.

in no limit, it's not called a straddle anymore, it simply is a blind raise. straddles belong in limit games.

wtf are you talking about.

to the op: a straddle is, by definition, live. if it is NOT live, then it is merely a blind raise, sometimes called a "dead straddle."
