6-handed superturbo multiple all-ins

I've recently picked up playing 6-handed superturbo S&Gs. It appears to me that a player who doubles or triples up first is a huge favourite on these ones. Quite often 2 players with any 2 high cards go all-in at a very early stage (at least $5-$10-$20 buy-in). Do you think it's sensible to call 2 all-inners at an early stage with a mediocre hand like K9 or 98? This would be because if you triple up, you will be a big favourite for the money against the other 3 players left who will have to struggle with the blinds in a minute or two.

I don't think most people on this forum know what a superturbo is.

Not knowing exactly what this is, I'd say no. You need a decent hand to give yourself positive expectation on the tourny if you're going to call an all in. KQ, JQs maybe, but not K9. You may be 25-35% chance of winning the hand which will allow you to usually win the tourny but probably not enough to warrant these kinds of calls.

Thanks for replying. With superturbo I mean S&G in which blinds double every minute. "Turbo" of course is used in most sites, but this is 3-5 times faster. Some sites call these "thunderstorm" or whatever. My current site however says "superturbo". The blinds start at 10-20 and plateau at 300-600 after 7 minutes (1500 start stack).

I am not sure you can speak about strategy in this kind of game...

Yeah that might be a little bit too fast.

Sure you can!

I used to hate superturbos, because you don't get to play "real" poker, but now I'm getting into them. There's a few reasons, including 1) There's always 1-3 players in the game who try to play "real" hands. Normally real hands won't come in time and these people will bust. 2) As you reach heads-up play the blinds stay reasonable. If you excel in heads-up this will be very profitable.

I'll explain my "strategy" for the moment. I'm working on it so let me know if you feel there's something wrong with it.

1) Pick up a reasonable 50/50 shot or better to double up within the first 3-4 minutes. Go bust or double up.

2) With your bigger stack, start pushing and stealing gently until the blinds kill most players and you reach headsup.

3) In headsup, smash your victim by using superior headsup strategy.

4) Grab the money and run to... wherever you where in such a hurry to.
