How do you measure profitability in 1/2 Kill Limit Games?

I.e.

In a 4/8 game, i'd take my incremental profit divded by the the big bet and take that divided by total hours played.

Incremental profit = $100
Hours Played = 3.5

((100/8))/3.5 = 3.57 BB/Hour

So what if this were a 1/2 Kill game. My thought is taking the incremental profit and dividing it by (BB * 1.25)

thoughts?

any help appreciated.

Welcome to live poker. Throw out the PT mentality, and just start tracking things in terms of weight.

I approximate the proportion of hands that are a kill, and add that to 1 to make a multiplier. In a limit hold'em kill game where one person wins two in a row, that happens about 10% of the time (a little less due to small pots not counting, a little more due to non-independence of hands and players of different looseness, less than 10 players at the table, etc.) so I use 1.1.

For split pot games where a scoop means a kill the number can be higher, so I just estimate after my session.

Your thinking too much. Its simple.... buy in for 1.5 as much as you would for a non-kill game, and just track how many BB/hour.
