Check my math for this site bet!

The Philadelphia Park Casino has Royal Match 21. An electronic blackjack table.The player and dealer each have their own 6 deck shoe that is shuffled after every hand.

They offer a side bet in multiples of $5 for the suits and the payout is determined after the next hand is dealt.

1000-1 is both dealer and player have KQ of the same suit
(i.e. dealer= K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] AND player=K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img])

25-1 if the player has KQ of the same suit (i.e. K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img])

2.5-1 if both players hole cards are the same suit.

I was trying to figure out the house edge on this bet.
Please check the math for the following.

(78/312)*(77/311) = .06

For Royal match K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

(48/312)*(6/311) = .003

For royal match for player and dealer

.003*.003 = .000009

Then for the final expected return

(.06 * 2.5) + (.003 * 25) + (.000009 * 1000) + (.936 * -1) = -.702

By my calculations the house edge for this site bet is 70.2%.

Could a math wiz please check my math.

Re: Check my math for this site bet!

I already realize I screwed up the calculation.

(78/312) Should actually be 312/312 because the first card picked doesn't matter it only matters if after the first suit is established what the second card is.

Total Cards In Deck = 312
Total Number of Each Card In Deck = 24

Possible Scenarios:
#1::Both Player And Dealer Have KQ same suit
#2::Player has KQ same suit
#3::Player has suited hole cards
#4::None of the above

Scenario #1::Both Player And Dealer Have KQ same suit

Chance to Occur: .0000010121902565481415115310805541545
(24/312)*(8/311)*(7/310)*(7/309)

Payout :: 1000 to 1

EV of Scenario #1:: 0.0010121902565481415115310805541545

Scenario #2::

Too lazy to continue, but remember that you must not that when scenario 2 or 3 occurs it is possible that other higher scenarios may occur simutaneously and you must make sure you subtract this as you will most likely not be paid for winning more than one scenario on any single hand.

PS your calculation was incorrect for scenario #1. You cannot simply use the same data squared as 2 you have removed cards from the deck your odds change dynamically.
