Poker in Florida

Is it possible to make a living playing no limit poker in Florida? I am moving there in the next month and would like to give it a shot before I find a real job.

$100 max buy in? Not even close. Get a real job, lol. $10/hour will get you nowhere.

photoc this isnt like vegas, people are trully retarted. I just moved from vegas and awaiting the games to go to higher buy ins in a couple weeks. I am averaging $25/hr for 80 hours of 1/2 nl 100 max and $65/hr for 7 hours of 2/5nl 100 max.

Just play tight and get payed when you get a hand. and play aggressive with pocket pair or top pair. dont let too many limpers get in and bust you. I cant wait for bigger buy in tho. Sept. 11th deadline now.

dear op,

if u don't know the answer to this question urself i suggest u don't try it at all. i'm not tryin to put u down, but please get a regular job first. once u get established in florida then try to play somethin like five 4hr sessions a week. write absolutely everything down. after 8 consecutive weeks calculate ur $/hr and ur variance. after that u'll know if what u r makin hourly is enough to make a livin for u in ur new environment. then u can set a risk of ruin for urself (please be conservative on it as it will be the money u pay the bills with) and u can calculate what ur bankroll should be for this game. if u need any help doing any of this a lot of people in this forum could help u w/ the math or give u advice on where to go play dependin on where u gonna live.

yup.

Possible? Yeah, perhaps...albeit for not a whole heckuva lot.
But only possible if you are experienced enough where you wouldn't need to ask this question in the first place.

So the answer to practically anyone who asks this question is "no, not in your case" even though for somebody else it might be "yes."

Are they raising the buyin amounts on Sept. 11th? That would be so clutch as I will be down in hollywood Sept 10-14
