Live 200NL, Turned TPTK, facing shove

Note: I am not the hero in this post (I am actually the villain) and am well aware of the hero's mistakes that lead to this situation. However, I'm curious how many people make the given call as played.

~3Revs into a new live 200NL table. Hero has won several pots and is sitting $260. Villain is button, very tight so far, sitting around $190.

Dealt: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] from BB.

5 limpers, SB limps, Hero raises to $12. 5 Callers, SB folds.

Flop (~$74): 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero bets $25 (yuck), 4 folds (!), Button calls.

Turn (~$124): Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets $40, Button raises all-in to $153 total. Hero ???

Fold, Baluga Theorem says you are beat.

you should be checking this flop 100% of the time. If you do bet, jesus, please bet harder. The turn bet is way too small too, but never ever bet flop here. Fold given action.

Turn is a fold... You should also be checking this flop, this is a horrible board to lead on given your hand.

Okay, thanks. Sorry for the vanilla hand, and no need for deep discussion on it, so results: Villain (somewhat predictably) held 9To for the straight, Hero called, villain doubled.

I was the villain this hand, hero was an annoying know-it-all-donkey who continued to defend his call when a second know-it-all-donkey berated him for it (I myself was a good boy and didn't tap on the aquarium); discussion of the hand went on for several minutes, and Hero managed to convince several people at the table that he was ahead "at least 75% of the time there." I thought otherwise, but kept my mouth shut; however, being somewhat new to 1-2NL Live, I posted the hand here to make sure people agreed that the call was as bad as I thought it was.

I know the flop bet was horrible, but thankfully it didn't come up. Wonderously, in this hand, it almost worked.

I think he sort of felt committed since he had put so much money in when he had nothing but A high. When he actually paired top pair with A kicker he felt he couldnt't just fold, it was exactly what he'd been waiting for.

easy call. His weak bet sizing made him exploitable to bluff raises, hence he must call lighter. Also since he turned a hand, that makes his hand slightly stronger because of the element of surprise.

$277 in pot ($124 turn pot + $40 hero bet + $113 villain raise) costs $113 to call....at better then 2 to 1 not sure why he was trying to convince anyone he was 75%....only needed to be 30%.

Flop bet is ugly beyond definition though. That said this is 1/2 Live and $ > % of pot in most low limit live players minds.
