Sklansky\'s top 5

Sorry, didn't want to hijack the 'Sklansky's mistake' thread.

Right after folding the pocket fives to Huck Seed on this week's Poker Spuerstars 2, Sklansky said "If there was a decathalon in poker...there's only four or five players who are in my league". has David ever gone on record as to who those players are? He actually said something similar to me in an interview at the '04 WSOP and I was a little surprised.

My guess its Chip Reese, Doyle, Phil Ivey, Chau Giang, etc.

Thorpe, Mathias, Johnson, Jenner, O'Brien.

These guys were a bunch of rocks.

I'll take that bet.

Ferguson is a tournament specialist ONLY at this point, from all I have heard.

Right, but I seem to remember hearing somwhere not too terribly long ago that he had NEVER played cash poker since becoming a tourney expert.

I've heard the same from multiple sources, including him in an interview. I highly doubt Sklansky was referring to Jesus. My guesses would be something like Reese, Brunson, Chan, Ivey, Greenstein, maybe Harman or Giang.

I think the decathalon players probably line right up with his top 5 smartest players, who were William Chen, Mark Weitzman, Howard Lederer, Jim Geary, and, yes, Jesus.
