What methods to you use to resist playing beyond your limits?
 

Limits as to bankroll of course. Because that's the surest way to go busto, seems to me.

My method was to make sure my mothers side of the family was jewish.

Frankly I never move up levels even though I can. I pick a level that I can beat, and make a comfortable amount of money without being too greedy. Perhaps one day if I accumulate enough I'll move up, but whatever the most conservative bankroll recommendations are.....I pretty much at least double it. That way at the very least I'll never have to stop playing. Rakeback is also a nice little insurance policy to keep your roll going.

I think of what my bankroll would look like with a higher limit buy-in gone. If it looks bad, then I don't take a shot. Or just think of all the time you spent at the lower level grinding out that higher level buy-in. You will find it's not worth it. If you got the itch to gamble for bigger money, grab a beer and buy-in into a tourney.
