Stars Warmup - Did I miss value??

Villain is unknown to me, 20 hands in, also not i got disconnected for like 50 seconds on turn.

I weak lead hoping to bet 3 bet. Weak lead on turn was because that card is great for a bluffraise by villain with a ton of hands he can just call flop with. I think.

Feedback appreciated.

I'm looking to shove the river, so I'm looking commit him beforehand. OOP, to this board, we're getting action or we're not. I like a small 3-bet to 4500 on the turn and a shove on any river.

Too many rivers will shut him down in relation to the rivers where he'll improve and the chances he has a 9.

He's showing some strength, I just shove the turn and expect to get called a decent % of the time. Gotta bet the river since that A may scare his one pair hands.

I think so..my first thought was why didn't you bet the river before I re-read your title.

Re: Stars Warmup - Did I miss value??

I rarely open limp here pf but a lot of people do 100 deep so I guess that's fine as long as you aren't only and/or always limping speculative hands, and I donk this flop 3 handed even less often, although I might be more tempted to go for the b/3b HU (but even then its not my default on this flop w/o reads).

Also, yes, you lost substantial value, the chips have to get in here. If he had raised your 800 to like 2k or less you might think about how to extract, when he goes to more than that I shove and expect a call.

I hate the river check.

You shouldn't have an ace but the ace is irrationally scary to bad opponents who will check behind with Tx or JJ-KK.

I don't hate not three betting the turn because we will miss value if he finds a fold with Tx, JQ, or an overpair that he finds a fold with (tournament life concerns) but calling the turn is under the assumption that we can get value on the river. I do think that the call is marginally -ev but it allows us to get another 2500 chips on the river a lot despite the fact that it costs us the chance to stack him
