Moving up from $25NL to $50NL?

I will be moving up to $50NL from $25NL soon, but how should I do it? I multi-table, so should the move be 'gradual', like half my tables $25NL and the other half $50NL initially, or should I just outright play exclusively on $50NL? Please share your experiences/thoughts!

Just jump right in a play 4-12 tables. When you inevitably lose just go back to single tabling the .05/.1nl tables.

Awesome advice champ. I'm also making this transtition so I'd be interested in hearing any INFORMED ideas about the differences between 25 and 50NL.

50 NL is generally tighter than 25NL at most but not all sites. At some sites 50NL seems to be full of players who did well at 25NL and have moved up and are playing tighter.

Slightly more bluffing, 3betting and so on but not that much different really than 25NL.

50NL is still a piece of cake, if you are beating 25 you shouldn't have problems, you just have to adapt to the new bet sizes is all.

One thing I like to do when starting to move up, if you feel uncomfortable that is:

Play your normal game (NL25 in this case) and when you double up on a table close the table you've lost the most on, and open a NL50 table.

Continue to do this as you continue to double up on tables.

Now you only have 25 invested in the 50NL.
Play your normal game and you'll do fine.

yea just move on up. Its not too different in my experience. One thing you want to do is maybe have play a few less tables when you start to get used to the bet sizing etc. Other then that try to play exactly the same way you would at $25NL to start of with and avoid fancy play syndrome.

I'm fixing to make the jump to $50NL, but I'm playing on Bodog, so I'm pretty sure the $100NL tables there play about like the $25NL tables on FT, I have no worries. I think I'll start off w/ 3 tables, then pick it up later to 3 tables...

Grouchie and Ryan seem to have given good advice, I'd listen to them and find the happy place somewhere in the midst of what they're talking about.

Just a suggestion but what I did was buy in for just 60 bb $30.00 for the first few times till I got a feel for the bigger bet sizes. Worked ok for me.

I did this too. I found that it helped keep the variance to a minimum while I was getting used to the new level. Still enough to play your game. A couple of bad beats for full buyins right off the start isn't the best for your confidence, but playing well enough to build a full buyin out of 60BB sure is.
