Would you ever fold this (razz)?

Since my public is clamboring for an SGspecial hand to be posted, I figured I'd post an interesting one from last night.

Razz ($8/$16), Ante $1.50, Bring-In $2 (converter)

Seat 2: $253.50
Seat 3: $42
Seat 4: $53
Seat 5: $100.50
Hero: $270.50
Seat 7: $229
Seat 8: $237

3rd Street - (1.31 SB)

Seat 2: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___folds
Seat 3: xx xx 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___completes___raises___calls
Seat 4: xx xx 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___raises___raises
Seat 5: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds
Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___calls___calls
Seat 7: xx xx Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___folds
Seat 8: xx xx Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds

Total pot: (9.75 BB - $156)
*************************************

Both villains have been typically loose/passive so they obviously have very strong hands and with 5-6 SB each will almost surely both get all-in. We clearly have the best hand, but with no FE are there any times you'd lay this down on 3rd?

This is kinda like the fold aces questions that plague the holdem forums. There are some satellite situations to do it, but anywhere else you have to hate money.

Also, you seriously need to threebet so they can't jam you out of the pot on fourth.

Assuming these stack sizes, there's no way you get away from this hand, so I voted "all in baby"...

In the Full Tilt strategy guide, Huck Seed seems to indicate that he might fold a 3-card wheel hand on 3rd street in a tourney situation (although I assume that if the stacks were similar size to this example, he'd probably be comfortable playing the hand).

The analogy to folding Aces preflop isn't really that applicable. Aces are at least a 77-23 favorite over any other single hand but Aces, and you don't even particularly mind playing against the other two Aces because about 98% of the time you split the pot. In this hand, Hero would usually be very lucky to have even 40% equity in a 3-way pot.

Which prompted Ted Forrest to say he could make money playing Huck's discards. I'm with Ted.

There are 14 unseen cards to the 7 that help us. If we give them the best they could possibly have at A25 and A26, that would discount the good cards for us to 12 and also take away 2 cards that could pair us.

I ain't putting this down against a couple of short stacks until I see a good reason. You said they were loose/passive which could mean they might each have a ZOMG ace with any card <8.

I'm with Ted too and I think Seed is generally both arrogant and intellectually dishonest when it comes to discussing poker.

Whoa, Huck just got pwned. What sort of examples are you talking about Patty? Inquiring minds want to know.

I would never fold this, maybe if there are 4 twos showing and they are 3 betting. Unless you miss on 4th and they hit, I wouldn't lay this hand down
