100NL AA in BB

100NL Bodog, 9-handed. No reads. 4 limpers and I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in the BB. I raise to 10. MP calls and everyone else folds. Flop is 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. I bet $17 into a $25 pot. MP minraises. Hero? Is this Jx enough to stack off here?

pretty terrible spot.

I'd fold it.

If you can't fold it, then c/rai the turn. Do NOT call and c/f the turn, and do NOT 3bet all in.

100bb stacks?

yes, i forgot stack sizes (the most important thing about this hand). With this hand, the effective stacks were 100BB. Can we also discuss this if it were 200BB effective stacks....

why do you think that 3-betting the flop is so bad?

Re: 100NL AA in BB

because calling and c/r turn depends on making most of its money from bluffs, which obv a 3bet allin fails to do.

great point....but, you're not at all worried about 9T?

Assuming effective stacks are $100, i'd probably 3 bet all-in without a read on the opponent.

It could be just top pair jack. Of course it could be a set too. But I think since we are pretty much committed to this hand i'd just push it in now in case he's fooling around with some straight draw.

If the stacks were a little deeper I could see slowing down because we wouldn't be committed.

The board isn't that threating, so I could see maybe calling and leading turn, but I don't think I want to check the turn and let him decide if he wants to take a free card.

Maybe i'm being too paranoid about protecting since the board isn't all drawy, but these were my initial thoughts.

How often do you think villian is bluffing here? About 5%? He looks to be a fish and will call with any made hand, and he almost always has a made hand. Plenty of times he will check behind on the turn anyway and may get away depending on what cards come up.

On second thought, I have to agree with Cop...it's always best to get it in early against a fish. But, I have no read on this guy and this really looks like a textbook set-mine. Is pushing +EV?
