every hand is like this of late

live 30 game that is 4handed. it is in the early morning. the game is going because of SB, who somehow manages to fold this hadn preflop. UTG is a solid player and knows me. button seems to be an OK player, and imo is not a moron, at least based on what little i have seen up to this point. it appears UTG and button know each other, which may or may not be relevant.

UTG raises, button coldcalls, I call in the BB with KQo.

flop 3 ways: QQTr
i check, UTG bets, button calls, i c/r, utg calls, button now comes to life and 3bets, i call, utg folds.

turn: 3
i check, button bets, i raise, button calls.

river: J
i bet, button raises, i...........

EDIT: When the river action is on me, there are 14bb in the pot.

This is just a brutal spot. I honestly think you should fold because you told him you had a Q quite clearly with your turn c/r and then he raises the river. The nice thing about folding is that you don't have to find out whether he has a completely retardedly played JJ (or even worse, AK) or QJ so you can just tell yourself he has QJ.

*edit*
Make sure to roll your eyes a few times or throw your cards face up at the dealer like I do, I seem to take fewer bad beats when I do this.

I'd call and expect to be shown QJ most of the time.

Every time I feel like folding because every hand is like this of late, and for goodness sake I practically hung up a sign around my neck which says, "I have a Queen," I realize I should probably do the opposite because every hand is like this of late and it's early in the morning and he's probably going to show me A-A or another K-Q after I fold.

Clearly, he is a moron and has AK.

Since I can read minds, I can tell you his thoughts went like this...

Hey cool! I have BIG SLICK and can't possibly lose. Since the game is 4-handed and I don't want to drive out that Taylor Hicks-looking-guy, I'll just call to get Maximum Value from those suckers.

Flop QQTr. PBob checked, cool, he's got nothing for sure. Okay, my buddy just bet, and I'm pretty sure he's got nothing, so I'm going to just call again to get Maximum Value from SLICKY here in my hand.

Hmmm, PBob just check-raised. I know he has nothing, and since my buddy has nothing, I can three-ball with SLICK here and get Maximum Value.

Turn is a 3. That Goddamn Motherf*&^ing schoolteacher just check-raised me? Sonofabitch! I bet he has TJ or something. Hmmm... Well since I have two overs and a gutshot, I'm WAY getting POT ODDS to call. Hell, my AK might still be good, because that guy might even be bluffing because the board is so scary, plus he might have picked up a flush draw. I have like 10 outs to the Winning Hand. Okay, three-bet or call? I'll just call, that way I get Maximum Value from the river, hey that waitress has a really nice ass, because if my J hits, he'll think he rivered me with two-pair, and I'll have the nuts, hahahahaha.

River J: Cool, I have the nuts! I'm going down to the felt.
