The first problem is that you need to raise more preflop. You are laying the villian way to sweet set/implied odds.

How much do your raise here PB?

I don't see how you can really cut down on implied odds. You would need to raise to like $20 wouldn't you? That seems like way too much risk and really inflates the pot, and if he calls you really have no idea if he has AK, AA-KK or JJ-TT.

I prefer the smaller raise, planning to play a smaller pot for less than all my chips. Also you aren't laying that big of set/implied odds if you don't stack off unimproved.

I'd raise more, to like $13ish

and i'd fire another bet on the turn. maybe fold to a raise [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] (but probalby not)

Welcome Gaby. You were one of the toughest players I tangled with in the FT100 last month.

In this hand I would raise preflop to $11. With absolutely no read, I often bet strong on the turn as the last money I put in the pot. I think it is one of those decisions that is almost impossible to get right when readless.
