Saving Ones Citizens From The Tyranny Of.....BOTTLED WATER!!! (NSFW)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20093192...wsweek/page/2/

Cliff Notes: Mayors around the country want to penalize bottled water because people prefer it over tap in some cases. San Fran mayor already bans use of public funds to buy bottled water (coke and pepsi ok though).

Anyone else think this is another retarded use of power. Maybe people don't like tap water because of taste and convienence factors. Maybe they prefer bottled water. Can't be having the market providing a better service then the free water the government produces.

Coke and Pepsi are actually cheaper than bottled water. The 20 extra pounds I carry around are directly related to that fact.

I'll start drinking tap water when it stops tasting like dirt.

uh, there is a legitimate difference between bottled watter and tapwater where I live. One tastes good and one tastes bad. fwiw I dont buy the little bottles, I buy the it gallons at a time for 1.19. People who only buy the little ones and just get a ton of them are dumb.

Forgetting price for a second, the number one reason people buy bottled water is convienence. You can't carry a glass of tap water around all day. The bottle itself is the value, and often the convienence of the distrubtion point/method. Even when public fountains are available, I don't use them, I mean they are full of everyone elses germs.

But my reason and the most popular reasons aside, WHAT DOES IT MATTER? For whatever reason millions of consumers are saying they prefer bottled water for whatever reason suits them. They prefer it so much they are willing to spend lots of $$$ to get it.

Why does the government have to deny them a product they want? Why do they have to get in the way?

Get an RO system and you are good to go. And the NSFW title is misleading---this so too safe for work.

Nielso is right about this too WTF should government have to say about what i eat or drink. As long as their are no substances involved deemed regulatable. (Alcohol, THC ..bong water )

I think there pretty much 3 things the government should stay out of What I eat, Drink and Breathe....
