Well played

Foxwoods Poker Classic
5 players left / 25,000 - 50,000 blinds

Seth Berger (705,000) - 5http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3255/spadeis5.gif5http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/6634/diamondyk3.gif
Raj Patel (3,220,000) - Ahttp://img519.imageshack.us/img519/5903/clubeq7.gifJhttp://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3255/spadeis5.gif

Seth raises to 155,000 and Raj calls from the small blind.

Flop: Khttp://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3255/spadeis5.gifJhttp://img519.imageshack.us/img519/6634/diamondyk3.gif10http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/5903/clubeq7.gif

Raj checks; Seth checks.

Turn: 10http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/3255/spadeis5.gif

Both check again.

River: Jhttp://img519.imageshack.us/img519/9230/heartmf5.gif

Raj checks; Seth quickly bets 300,000; Raj just calls.

"What if he had pocket Kings? I can't raise."

This is standard play for Jacks full in that spot? WTF kind of games do you play in?

I thought it was pretty weak not raising the river also. Only thing I can think of is Raj knew he was inducing a pure bluff from Seth, and there was no value in raising. Maybe he just called on the river to see what Seth was playing. If he really was scared of Seth having pocket Kings, then disregard any credit I'm giving Raj.. lol.

Is it worth it, to just call on the end so you can see a showdown and see what your opponent has played? as opposed to raising, and he insta-folds.

Very interesting point. I often smooth call bets from my opponent on the river with a big hand if I know they're bluffing and wouldn't call a raise just to see what they had and how they played it. Am I missing out on bets in doing so? Giving away too much information by showing my hand?

That is a raising spot. What if the dude w/55 had a ten. He surely would of called a small raise
