What you do to motivate yourself?
 

At first i didn`t put it to the psychology forum, because i doubt that i will get many answers from players which are semipros or pros.

The whole JUly i was motivated to play poker, though poker isn`tthat much fun for me. I would like playing soccer or watching TV more than grinding, but i love the money.

How do youguys get your fun backand motivate yourself everyday?.
I don`twant a answer like stop playinf for a month.
I`m considering going pro and stopplaying isn`t that good then.

Seems like a bad idea. Especially if you don't make enough to take take a month off every now and then.

PS. if you can't get motivated to play while doing it part time do NOT go pro.

There aren't many things I like less than sitting in front of my comp and playing poker.... however the money and knowing that if I put in the time I should be able to retire by 30 motivates me.

i find that getting very drunk inspires me to play a lot of hands at high stakes which is surely the goal of a pro

Find ways to make poker, or things that you do while you play poker a lot of fun. Listening to music, podcasts, audio books, etc all helps. I find that watching TV in the background if its a ball game or sporting event is also good and keeps me in the mood to play. Also, playing sessions next to friends and sharing hands as you play helps me enjoy the game more sometimes.

But mainly just having an exciting enjoyable rest of your life because you play poker helps.

QFT, giving up a relativly active job to go pro made me fat. Signing up with a gym stopped that and helped with motivation issues. Which helped me play more poker, getting me fatter etc.
