there a reason you don't cap KK pre flop ...

given that you didn't cap preflop ... cap the damn flop!

without a read u should be capping PF, even with a read capping is generally best.

As played I'm either capping flop or c/r'ing turn. Given ur PF line i like c/r'ing turn.

I didn't cap pf to c/r flop. Ya know, for disguising purposes. Is it that bad?

you have a reason to disguise your hand ...

players generally suck ... you don't need to do this ..

well question ... what are your stats?

16/7/2, but it's only for about 3k hands. I just jumped back into limit, and didn't have PT when I played before.

I always thought one more SB in pf wasn't worth screaming "I have a huge hand!", so I don't 4-bet HU with AA/KK very often. Players at 1/2 rarely 4-bet, and doing it really narrows down their range. If this just FPS, I guess I'll stop, though.

The lack of pf cap is ok against opponents who are paying some attention. I don't know if 1/2 FTP fits that description.

3K hands is enough to tell vpip, pfr, and AF

you need to raise more.

anyways ... you only use a deceptive line against those that you need to do it against (like someone you've played with everyday for a month, and you're sure they know they've been playing against you ... or someone that will give way too much action because you didn't cap pf)

generally though, at that level ... people are going to call you down with crap regardless if you cap or not

fyi on that board I'm 3betting you with
AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, KQ, AJ, KJ (and free carding you with a bunch other stuff because you look semi weak) ... yadda, yadda, yadda ...

The thought behind it isn't bad, and as you progress and face tougher competition that pays more attention, then this might be a better play. At this level I'd be more concerned with just playing more straightforward and getting as much money in as I can with my good hands. If you are lucky, you get a situation like this with the guy betting and reraising even though you did show strength. Given how you played this preflop, my 3bet range would also include a lot of hands that you beat

The drawback is that it makes postflop exceedingly tough. If you cap and lead the flop and Villain raises anyway, you know he's pretty strong. But instead, you smooth-called and check/raised, and now that Villain's three-bet you have no idea where you are. He could have AA/JJ/TT, or QQ. Or AJ/KQ if he's a little on the LAG side.

I wouldn't recommend a kind of play like this very often, but if I'm doing it at all, it'd be with AA against someone whom I have a positive read will spew if I demonstrate any weakness. The reasons should be obvious.
