Darnell Bing released by Raiders and claimed by 9ers

Any raiders fan (lol) here know what's up with Darnell Bing? I know alot of 49ers fans wanted to draft him in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft but he ended up sliding down to the raiders at 4th.

it seems weird that the raiders would just give up on a relatively high pick like that. i know he was on the IR for the season and he's not very good at LB but can't he just go back to being a safety? are the raiders 2ndary that good to cut Bing? or is Bing that bad?

He's probably having regrets of leaving USC early. Although Carroll said he'd get some reps at RB lol. I don't think he's that bad, he probably doesn't fit the Raiders D. He should catch on somewhere else, most likely on ST.

Maybe he's too slow to play SS and too small to play linebacker... Speed was a big question mark coming out of college. He's not going to start over Micheal Huff, and NFL.com shows their depth chart as 4 deep at SS.

They probably tried to shop him around and couldn't get anything. Maybe if he's lucky he can go from Oakland to San Fran without having to move.

He doesn't really have a position. He should turn into a solid ST player for somebody, though.

Bing is one of my all time favorite players, but this can't be worth its own thread.

Is he Chandler's brother?
