$114: Mediocre hand HU vs aggressive villain

Antes are in effect. Villain was on the laggy side in mid to late levels and I've seen him bluff once or twice throughout the tourny. Do you think getting it AI on the flop is bad? His c/r just seems really weird, and then he follows it up with an overbet shove...what do you think?

i think all in on this flop is pretty bad, you re not even ahead of most diamond draws and he definitely calls with one diamond above j and any diamond with a straight draw, so basiclay all diamond draws (and all jacks prly). fold flop i think unless you really have a read he s bluffing, then call and call turn.

Yeah he's not putting you on a draw, so he's sure not open-shoving a made hand, unless he's just one of those guys who likes to be unnecessarily tricky. I probably play it the same and call turn. Nice job inducing the semi-bluff.

in case he had a straight draw, we are mostly smoked on the turn.

also overshoving hu with top pair is a good idea, but usually only if you re less deep, watch people call with any pair or ace high. i only play 20-50$ donkaments though.

I raise to 500 or 525 preflop.

I'm just not real excited about about getting allin for 33 BB's with 2nd pair on the flop. You are either smoked or basically flipping (could be a bit ahead). I'd just fold the CR because you know a big turn bet is coming. You still have so many chips I'd wait for a better spot.

Ummm..As played fold turn,

I'm pretty sure I give it up on the flop though. Looks to me like he wants to protect a weak J.

I probably just get it in on the flop. Board is real drawy and he's calling with worse 7's.

so why can't they have a J? I see nothing so far that indicates otherwise. Why stack off here? I fold the flop.
