I was thinking years ago that Morgan Freeman would be perfect as Nelson Mandela, when I saw that there is a movie in the works, I wondered who else would match up so perfectly.

I didn't rate him as much of an actor before I saw Troy, but I think Brad Pitt makes a perfect Achilles, perhaps because the only emotion he has to portray in it is anger. He looks exactly as one would expect Achilles to look as well, godlike in every way.
