Advertising poker in EU

Hi,
Do you know which countries of European Union accept advertising poker sites in internet? I've heard UK, Cyprus and Malta, could anyone confirm it?

Probably not no. It is a very complex area which often sits between the EU competition laws and the national laws. It also depends what you are advertising. The good news is that the EU courts have consistently ruled in favour of an open market such that a service or product (gambling or otherwise) that is legal and licensed in one EU member country should be permissible in the other EU countries. However, a number of EU countries still have state run monopoly gambling operations and restrictive national laws.

In addition most EU countries have strict guidelines on how you can advertise. If you check out the UK ban thread I linked to the gambling commission guidance which is long and detailed but a few highlights include not featuring anyone under 25, not targeting under 18s (probably no cartoons then) no association with sexual attractiveness or sexual success and no presenting gambling as a solution to financial problems....the list goes on.

Like much in poker....it depends.
