I am new to draw and really no idea what I’m doing.
Was I correct in just calling the reraise after the first draw?
Was I correct to stand pat on the second draw?
I just call his reraise?
Am I suppose to draw on the 3rd draw?
Should I have folded after the 3rd draw?

Re: First Time Playing Triple Draw

You should 3-bet on round two.

As played your hand looks weak to the villain, you must call a river bet in this huge pot. You only need to be good 9.4% of the time for a call to be +EV, and your good much more often than that.

Barring any reads about this guy, I'm going to the river with an 8-6. I don't really think you made any horrendous plays. Here. I'm fine with check-calling it on the end. Save some bets those times he's got a 7 or a smooth 8, and induce a bluff when he's got worse.

After the 2nd draw should I have raised?
Should I have drawn after he stood pat?

Hand #2 is very much a know your opponents sort of hand. It might be perfect, it might be a horrible spew, and there's no way to tell from the hand history.

The villian was pretty LAG. I would also greatly appriciate hearing how to adjust to different type of styles in this situation. So if it's not too much trouble, how would you play it against a TAG, LAG, tight passive and loose passive player?

First, throw out all of those categories. They don't matter in TD except at the very extremes. The important questions about a TD player are all related to how he draws, not how he bets.

1. What sort of hands does your opponent draw to? On one extreme there are players who draw at nines and straights. On the other there are players who will never draw at anything but 7xx2.

2. What sort of hands will your opponent pat? "Quickpatters" tend to pat nines and even sometimes tens and jacks very early on in hands, hoping to pick up pots early. On the other extreme, there are players who will never pat anything worse than an 86. In the middle there are a lot of players who will pat a jack or better on the third round if given reason to believe their opponent is still drawing.

3. Will your opponent break a hand if you raise? In the hand in question this is a big deal, because if you raise the third round and he breaks a better nine, that one bet has made you 70% of the pot. On the other hand, if you raise and he breaks a worse nine or a T or J, you have a chance to be outdrawn while you could have locked up the whole pot with a call. You can see how this interacts with the first two questions.

4. What hands will your opponent bet on the river in this situation? Truthfully, very few players will bet a hand you beat here. But it's very important to know which ones will.

Was that a correct fold?

Re: First Time Playing Triple Draw

I would cap, with the caveat that I'm not really sure what a threebet means at .5/1. At higher limits CO will still be drawing two a lot. I suspect there might be someone around here who prefers a fold, though. This isn't a premium one-card draw, but it's still a pretty good hand.

I think I butchered this hand really badly
After the first draw should I have reraised? If so what are your reasons for reraising
Was standing pat a correct play?
Do I call steveswoos bet?
