Cap PF and lead the flop. I don't know what is in an unknowns 3-bet range that you are ahead here and unless I really want that read I doubt I'm getting past the turn.

looks like you guys both screwplayed. I'm with Ker except on the cap part. definitely lead the flop and reevaluate if villain raises.

HU, I cap preflop.

I play it the same postflop, although I'm not sure how often we're good on the river since I don't know if he is bluffing K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or valuebetting 99-JJ.

[/ QUOTE ]That's the thing. Villain 3bets a UTG raise from early position himself. What is JJ beating? He could have TT, putting you on KQs or 88-99. Most likely villain has AQ, QQ or KK.

or even AK.

I would have called the pf 3-bet, donked the flop and re-evaluated if raised. I suspect that you are most likely only ahead of a possible TT.

Re: Js OOP and 3bet

I think that if you just call the 3 bet preflop, that checking with the intent to raise is fine. However, if you capped it preflop (which I would probably do) then you should bet out into the flop. As is I probably would have bet out at the river as well. In my experience, if I'm getting raised by a big hand it's going to happen on the turn, so when he just calls the turn, I feel like it's unlikely he will raise the river, and thus betting serves the same purpose as check calling with the added advantage of the villain perhaps folding (though that's tremendously unlikely in this case). Check calling is fine too, because in this particular situation it's so unlikely that the villain will fold a hand that beats you
