I knew my AK was far ahead of his pre-flop range but i didnt wanna race pre-flop. Before the flop came i was planning to check/raise all in any flop i hit, i knew he was leading any flop with a wide range most probably.

I'm not sure about your flop play honestly, but I'm leaning towards saying ok.

As so many people around here say, what are 45 hands of reads actually worth? I think I'd want to actually see him do something donkish before taking him on like this. I've recently reduced to 4 tables max, and I find that I can actually pick up proper reads with that table load, instead of just relying on the stats.

As played I don't mind it, he may well call with a single diamond in which case it's a very nice bet for you, otherwise you have tons of fold equity.

I think this is an important comment. If this is the first time he has 3bet you aren't ahead of his range at all.
