UTG folds, hero calls t40 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t60)</font>, 3 folds, CO calls t40 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t100)</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Button raises to t200</font>, 2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises all-in t1500</font>, CO folds, Button calls t1300 <font color="aaaaaa">(pot was t1800)</font>.

is this okay? didn't want to play AK it by calling BTN's raise and being OOP during the early stages of the tourney. villain is unknown and your standard 1-tabling opponent

I prefer raising the first time around but limping is ok too. Pushing over button's raise is read dependent. I don't really like it if he is solid.

I prefer raising over open-limping.
As played I shove too.

i dont understand the shove can someone explain the reason...why not just make a re raise to like 600 and take control and call a push. or how bout just raising to begin with

Re: $22 AK limp-shove?

Raising to 600 leaves us with 900 which is less than a pot size bet. This leaves us in an awkward position on the flop if we miss. To avoid this kind of thing its generally better to push if villain's raise is bigger than about 1/8th of our stack

Also limp-pushing AK doesnt make sense. If you're so happy with your hand just raise it the first time.

This might be a more appropriate move for a multi table tournament. Maybe I'm wrong, but you probably don't want to go broke with AK while it's still 9-handed and the blinds are still small.

With two callers in front of him, I think the button is rarely making a 5BB raise without a very strong hand. (unless you had a read)
