2/4 - River decision.. check/call or bet/fold?

I recently started playing on FT so I don't have much of a read on this guy. He hadn't done anything out of line that caused me to label him (i love that feature in FT btw).

Anyway, what do you think about the river decision here. I feel like bet/fold is so weak...is bet/call an option? How about check/call?

I would bet for sure.
If he raises, I normally call - but expert play is probably to fold at the 2/4 game vs. a guy who hasn't raise your eyebrows

I guess the reason I hesitate to bet is because I don't see what one-pair hands would call a bet on that board that I beat. Maybe QJ?

But I lose to AJ, JT, J9, J8....push to KJ. So what is a bet really accomplishing? I mean if he's calling me down with like, A7 then lol. I really don't see too many players THAT bad at 2/4 anymore unfortunately.

Another Example

Here is another example, same concept except two big differences:

1. This time the draw is open-ended on the river...
2. This time the river card trumps my top pair

With villain's line and the draw heavy board, I hesitated to bet....

Eerhm.. A9, AT, KT, QJ, QT.

River is an easy bet and I am pretty sure you can fold it since the pot isnt huge.

About the flop. Unless you are intending to 3-bet you shouldnt donk it. Easy c/r for value. Villain is almost always c-betting 100% of his range.

not ck/r-ing the flop in hand 1 is a leak.

At 2/4 b/f is fine on river.

I c.r the flop every time,

As played, I like c/c on this river, but lately I kinda tend to be a bluff inducing monkey.

On a draw heavy board I'm always hesitant to c/r because I'm scared he'll check behind. But yeah in this case since he was the PF raiser, I definitely see I'm missing some value.

You guys are saying it's worth the risk though huh? I'll have to reconsider. Thanks.

In my experience villain never checks behind. I have no idea why you would think he might check it through.
