The check raise all-in with a flush draw is very, very rare at NL25. Unless I had a note that he plays draws this way, I'd imagine we're crushed here almost always.

Why bet the flop ... sure there is a FD out there but you are either WA/WB in this spot and were likely pushed off the best hand

I check behind for pot control in this spot

I bet flop almost 100% on this board. We have a decent hand. Let's find out right now where we stand. He did that and he quickly found out. He's getting 2-1 on the call but this is very rarely a flush draw at NL25.

IMO, if you're going to raise a shortstack limper with a-10 off, you have to call their push when you hit tp, unless you know something about them that lets you put them on a really strong hand.

I agree with that statement but this guy had 53 BB's. Not your classic shortstack. Don't get me wrong...if there was any indication that this guy played draws strong (almost nonexistent at NL25), then the play is fine. Here we don't have that read and we are crushed virtually 100% of the time.

With a 2.5 pfr%, he could easily have a better ace. He could also have aces up. But, he could also have a worse ace or a draw or 8-8 or air. I consider a stack of 1/2 buy in, to be a shortstack unless I have seen them play conservatively with it. That makes hand reading difficult and you can easily outguess yourself. I personally don't make this raise against a 33/2.5 shortstack with a-10 off myself, but if I got myself in this situation, I would not want to overthink the hand against what I consider to be a shortstack. How he got to 1/2 buy in might go into my decision though. Did he buy in short or did he recently lose a pot?

There are 6 flush draws he could have calling a PF raise (im assuming his calling range is tight since his PFR% is tight)
KQs,KJs,KTs,QJs,QTs,JTs.

For him to have an ace that beats you there are
2 Aces x 18 kickers = 36 Hands

For him to have an ace you beat there are
2 Aces x 24 = 48 hands.
(There are also 18 combinations of JJ-KK that you beat)


Your not that far ahead of the FD so the big question is does he make this play with A9 or worse?
That looks a pretty strange play, AK or AQ fits much better.

Unless he is a total donk postflop this is a fold.
