2 1-2 hands vs bluffman

I think bluff prolly thinks i am kinda sucky and a huge showdown monkey. this is because i defantly was in the past when we have played together and while i am getting better about both factors they still hold true to some extent.

Re: 2 1-2 hands vs bluffman

I fold the 1st and call the 2nd

but honestly, what is your range when you check that turn? Do you check behind and call rivers a lot? vs. me that has to be a value bet almost always because i am very showdown bound. If your check usually says you're quitting on a hand then you are fine with this call IMO.

2nd on, when 2 hearts pop up i decide i'm showing down. Since he is pf-raiser the river is essentially a blank, besides AhXh hands.

I definitely call the first.

The second I'd fold the river. What do we beat? K9?

1 is a fold.

i actually don't think you are sucky at all. in fact, i don't have any opinion on your play. i don't think we've played enough together for me to make any sort of assessment.

about the hands, im kinda curious what i had in the first hand. and i think i'm probably winning in hand 2. probably a Q or something.

oh also, i like your call in hand 1. i think you win.

If your image is that of a showdown monkey, Bluffman wouldn't expect you to fold either hand. This makes both 1 and 2 a fold, as he's not betting anything you beat.
Given Bluffman has indicated he does not think of you that way, I think both are close decisions, Cheers, Mahogany17

Re: 2 1-2 hands vs bluffman

I think you should bet the turn in hand 1 for value. I think when I'm playing mediocre/bad I get ace high and figure out how I can get to showdown with it and wind up giving free cards on the turn more often than getting them. His hand in hand one looks a lot like two random overcards that peeled the flop so unless he's bluffing a huge amount of the time on the river when you check through the turn giving the card there might hurt you. There is also a lot of metagame benefit to continuing to pound on people who want free cards when you only have a weak made hand yourself. Also you sometimes have to deal with tough turn checkraise spots but it might be more +EV to induce bluff raises and still showdown ace high if that makes sense.

DD -

I think a turn bet in hand 1 is really player dependant. If he's getting c/r'd by any pair/draw then I don't really like it. I was getting pwnd by hands like 89/67 for like a whole week until i realized i was playing like [censored].

With no read though, yeah bet the turn, because if i don't have anything on them they probably have nothing on me.

What pair doesn't checkraise this awesomely dry flop? I'd be pretty happy to get CRed on this turn and just try and fade a bunch of river cards.
