Gamepads to play with?

This may not technically be software, but I would venture this would be the best forum for this question.

I'm looking to make the switch from a mouse and keyboard to something a bit more ergonomically designed. Something that I could even do situps or walk on a treadmill nearby with (ie, lay on the couch) would be great. As much as I love my MX1000, 30,000 hands this week has left my right forearm a sore mess. That doesn't even count the work I've put in on my ... content browsing. I've heard of people using gamepads and macro software to be able to control their playing. Anyone have any good suggestions on where to start looking?

Optimally, a wireless gamepad (that can be wired if necessary, perhaps if the batteries are low) that is comfortable and configurable would be best.

Details: I typically 6-table SNGs on Stars, and I almost always "incrementally bet" - 3xBB, 5xBB, etc. I would just need to be able to configure the device to know which table I'm betting on. I'd also need a quick "all in" button. I guess my dream scenario is a bunch of tables up, I'm holding something like a PS2 controller. Table beeps, I hit right a couple times to raise the bet amount, hit X to bet, O to fold, square to raise all in, triangle to check/call. Maybe L1/L2/R1/R2 select tables? Even better, maybe the software can somehow figure out which table has the focus, and adjust the focus of it's mouse clicks without needing to select a table? I know some Macro programs used to be pretty fancy programmatically, and I think I could tackle a project like that.

Suggestions/thoughts on where to start looking for something that can do all this?

this is such a great idea! please, please pull this off!! my only concern is that i'll forget it's real money and start thinking it's a game and be like "lol square square" on every table.

Thinking you would want something that had Gyro's in it, to control cursor movement on screen. I have a cool Gyartion Mouse (that I rarely use).

I use Logitech Cordless Rumblepad when i play. I have set it up to have the right stick control the amount slider. Other buttons control allins, fold\bet etc. The POV controls how big % of the pot i want, i push UP for 100%, down for 50% and so on.
The ahk scripts to use is TableNavigator and BetPot.

Does it have rechargeable batteries? What's the life like (perhaps in terms of hours until recharge/death)?

regular batteries, but they last for a long time. I have a other gamepad with cord also, no battries.

What's a "long time"? If I'm 6-tabling for 8-10 hours a day, are they going to last a day? Week? Month? If it's a week, fine, but if it's every other day, regular batteries will be out as an option.

You can check out overcards.com. There are two ahk scripts for using a gamepad at Pokerstars. I've been messing around with one the last couple of days.

One's called StarsGamepad, the other is PokerGamepad.
