no, getting upset over this is beyond nitty.

when playing live the dealer has an obligation to explain the rules of the game at any point in the game if asked. internet shouldn't be any different. you should be free to talk about the rules of the game at any point.

no strategy was discussed.

It's common courtesy to answer rules questions if they're asked. Unsolicited advice is very different.

The first rule of lowball is never tell anyone they're playing lowball.

Confess... the real reason you're ticked off is that it was an Ohio State fan who ruined your score.

I dont think that this chat is far or even at all out of line.

He didnt ask a thing like:
Do i have the odds to call 1:5 with 1 card to my 87?
and the other guy didnt answer:
Yes but only if youre sure to draw live!

[/ QUOTE ]thanks. i didn't think of it in this manner. i was just ticked off at first b/c had osudan not responded, perhaps i would have won more money. but realizing it was a technical question and dealers would answer this question at a live game, i see no reason to be upset. thanks

Re: Do you think this chat is inappropriate?

I don't play 2-7, but similar situations happen from time to time in Omaha when it's clear someone doesn't understand that they have to use exactly 2 hole cards to make their hand. I won't offer unsolicited advice, but if they ask why their naked Ace doesn't make a flush on a 4-flush board, I don't think it's inappropriate to explain why.

It's not like they're suddenly going to start beating you just because they understand the rules a little bit better, and it will probably keep them at the table longer.

if the worst thing that happened to you today is that a newbie playing $50 triple draw 2-7 pot limit got a rules question answered, it is not a bad day.

complaining about a rules question being answered correctly is the worst thing out of this situation.
