My 1st Full Ring Hand Post

Hey guys 1st ever cash hand post.

UTG is a solid regular who "can" limp a strong pocket UTG. No other reads.

What can we put the bb on and might we be drawing dead to a split here if we continue? Does anybody peel another card here or is this an easy fold?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (9 handed) internettexasholdem.com

saw flop|saw showdown

UTG+1 ($292.70)
MP1 ($224.10)
MP2 ($40)
MP3 ($152.70)
Hero ($199)
Button ($187)
SB ($56.15)
BB ($121.90)
UTG ($479.65)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls $2, 4 folds, Hero calls $2, Button calls $2, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($10) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB bets $4, BB calls $4, UTG raises to $18, Hero calls $18, Button folds, SB folds, BB raises to $32, UTG calls $14, Hero?

I fold for the $18 on the flop. In a limped pot, you could possibly be drawing to a chop anyway, and its pretty hard to get paid off if an A or 6 drops. It doesn't really pay to draw to non-nut straights here.

Welcome =D

You got the price to draw but.. with a 1 card to a straight board if you hit, a set is outa there i think when you start pressing your made hand strong. If you do get action once you hit you may be dead to a higher striaght. If you bet small, they may call and try to fill up. I do not think it sounds too good really. In the heat of battle i hope i fold, but time pressure [censored] me up somtimes. Reading this i insta fold.

I agree. I wouldn't draw to this even without all the heavy action -- I would rather draw to 7-8 than this.

um...first post in cash, where did you post the rest?

as played, fold the flop...why are you cold calling a 2 bets with OESD?

ah, you must come from limit tournament! lol.

seriously, you don't have odds. as is, call the min raise again and proceed to suck out on the sets.

oh yeah, you could be drawing dead anyways.

All prior posts were in MTTC. Schedule is forcing a break from MTT's for a bit so I'm squeezing in some cash sessions as time allows.

My goal was to play UTG heads up which is why I cold called his $18 with position. When the bb came over the top it changed everything in my mind and I folded rather easily.

Would you guys not want to play this for $18 heads up against a very likely overpair from UTG? Aren't there good implied odds here (again assuming all others fold and it's heads up)?

Why do you think it is likely that he has an overpair? You are getting 2:1 on a call with about $180 behind. I don't think a call is terrible if you think you can make up 90 bucks on average. I also would expect to get at least 1 call behind you which should sweeten the pot more for you.

In addition to my "read" in the OP his action screams overpair to me. He has only $2 invested and action from both blinds on a blind lovers board. Do you disagree? If so what would you think he's raising to $18 here with?
