6-Handed, Deep-stacked villain ($500+ behind) opens for $8 in MP1, SB ($200 behind) smooth calls, I pop to $28 ($200 behind) with AJo... thoughts?

depends if hes a nit or not, and if he calls 3-bets IP. Since you aint doing this for value.

Don't really like it. Play after the flop is not going to be easy if he calls. I like it more with a SC, or a small pp.

I would say fold or reraise. Calling in this spot seems pretty bad.
