That was a terrible call by Mizrachi on the turn. His equity with the bluff call can't have been higher than 15%
He has to commit 400,000 in chips, then bet 1,000,000 on the river just to win a pot worth 700,000 when he makes the call on the turn.

Yeah, I hate the call too. Seems like a fairly obvious push/fold decision to me.

How much do you think the possibility that a J flush back-doored a boat weighed in on Antonius' river decision?

not much. Looks like Mizrachi is just bad at poker, and has a set the whole way. I can't imagine that being a flat call on the turn from the J-flush... It's more or less as bad with a set.

Robert showed a 9-high flush, which against PA seems like a really tricky solid play because bluffing the river is a lot better than calling a bluff. PA folded his a-high flush.

Mizrachi, Cunningham, all the 'good' tourney players are bad at PLO.

but makes calling the turn pretty awful... if he thinks PA is on a bluff (since he's either on a bluff or a high flush) then he should be c/c c/c, whereas if he thinks PA is ahead he should be folding. Maybe I'm just not brilliant enough.

There's no way he thought his hand was good here. Or, if he did, then he is a moron because he turned his hand into a total bluff on the river.

Also, this was earlier in the night:

Hand #77 - Patrik Antonius Doubles Through Robert Mizrachi

Hand #77 - Patrik Antonius has the button in seat 2, he raises to 280,000, and Mizrachi calls from the big blind. The flop comes {K-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}, and both players check. The turn card pairs the board with the {J-Diamonds}, Mizrachi checks, Antonius bets 200,000, and Mizrachi calls. The river card is the {9-Clubs}, Mizrachi checks, and Antonius thinks for about 30 seconds before he moves all in for 660,000. Mizrachi studies him for about 15 seconds before he says, "I call."

Antonius shows {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}-x-x for a flopped royal flush. Mizrachi shows 10-10-x-x for a full house, tens full of jacks.

It's not a tricky solid play. It's a 'oops I got to the river with this hand and suddenly I realise it's not good, time to bluff'.
