Michael Binger ties record for most cashes in single WSOP
 

Congrats to Michael Binger who has cashed 8 times this WSOP. WSOP shows 6 but he has also cashed in two ongoing events - the $10,000 PLO and after he busted from that he went and played the $1,000 NLHE with rebuys and cashed in that too.

His older brother is my neighbor. If he comes home early from the ME, he might play in my home game next week. I'm rooting for a cash in the ME so he won't be able to take my buy-in. Oh, and to beat the record too.

I know nothing about Michael Binger other than his ME final table last year and the few interviews he has done for pokernews.com. Congrats to him and his newly minted PhD. He seems like a nice guy. Higher education does pay (and when I'm done with mine, I hope similar poker success awaits).

he's def shown himself to be a solid player -- re: the record, though, don't forget that the WSOP has been adding more and more events every year...it's up to something like 60 now. i don't know what it was previously, but he's also probably entered more events than anyone.
Not to take anything away from his accomplishment, though -- definitely sick.

During last year's ME FT broadcast on Sirius, Daniel Negreanu kept saying how impressed he was with Binger's play, so I'm not too surprised he's doing well.
