i have read here that bellagio chips are as good as currency. is that the case? for example, im staying at the wynn, but want to have a large sum available for me to use. i just called the wynn and they said they will only issue up to 10% in cash from the amount of the bank check i bring.

well i want to be able to play poker at the wynn, bellagio, venetian, where ever. could i bring my bank check to the bellagio, get chips there, and bring the B chips to venetian or wynn and use/convert them?

i called bellagio they said if they dont know me they wont approve the bank check so id need to wire. and they wont give me cash only chips

no. how did you miss the $5K chip fiasco? you can try, but it may not work.

i didnt miss it. i was under the impression that bellagio chips were held in higher regard. plus the fact that rio takes B chips to buyin to wsop

I don't usually jump back and forth from Bellagio to Wynn or Ventian much, but from everything that I hear the players saying here, Flags are usually going to be taken at the higher end casinos on the strip.

ive never wired money to a casino before but this doesnt really make sense to me. why wouldnt they give you cash if you wired it there? and even if they just gave you chips, couldnt you just cash them out if you wanted to go play somewhere else?

That's basically it. You walk up to the main cage say give me 10K. They give you 2 flags. You walk over to the poker room and say cash me out. You then have 10K cash which you take to the Wynn or the Rhino.

On a side note, if you bring bellagio flags to the wynn, they'll exchange them at main cage for wynn chips

Once you wire $$$ to any casino......just ask for chips and walk over to the Poker/Main cage,and cash them as you need them.If you are registering to play at the WSOP,I "think' they accept B chips!
I have done it quite often,and its fast and easy!

i wired to the rio for wsop with a plan to play no more than 3-4 events and get the rest in cash for cashgames in various places. they had no problems at all issuing me cash 10-20k at a time.

Over New Year's Lefort and I both wired money to the Venetian, where out suite was, planning on playing all around the strip.

However, in an attempt to keep us at Venetian, even though we weren't playing table games at all, they would only give us 15 or 20% of the BANK WIRE in cash.

It was the biggest pain in the ass as we had to basically launder the money out of the casino getting a 1k chip, playing 25/hand blackjack for short time, getting blacks and cashing out.

Or sitting and playing limit/nl and buying in and reloading/pocketing chips so we could cash them for cash again shortly.

If you have the option I would advise just bringing cash or make sure to talk to someone at the casino management to make sure you won't get [censored] like we did.

bel chips are at least equivalent to cash and in many cases better than cash. So yeah, doing that there is fine. Everywhere else, not so fine.
