Is this a good deal?

SYSTEM COLOR: Alpine White
PROCESSOR: AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-64 (1MB/2.2GHz)
OPERATING SYSTEM: Genuine Windows® Vista Home Premium Edition
DISPLAY: High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1680x1050)
VIDEO CARD: ATI RADEON® Xpress1270 HyperMemory™
MEMORY: 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
HARD DRIVE: Speed: 160GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
OPTICAL DRIVE: CD / DVD writer (DVD+/-RW Drive)
WIRELESS NETWORKING: Dell Wireless 1505 Wireless-N Mini-card
INTEGRATED WEBCAM: Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam
BATTERY OPTIONS: 56Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell)
SOUND OPTIONS: Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy™HD Software Edition

This is basically just for the internet, music, poker, and maybe some counterstrike: source..

$1450 shipped

Also which of their security options is recommended (McAfee, Norton, or PC-cillin)..

The other computer I was considering was the black macbook which would be $200 more than this even after the $100 student discount..

Any input appreciated

Re: Is this a good deal?

Do they have an Intel C2D model available for the same price?

Also I wouldn't recommend any security options. An occasional online based virus scan / Ad-Ware / HijackThis sweep is good enough and will cost you $0.

If you live in the US and don't object to ordering one online it wouldn't hurt to check out www.newegg.com

Also www.pricewatch.com (although with a purchase like this I wouldn't use a non-popular vendor, so make sure you check out the vendor before making an order).
