PS60 L2 - milking some chips out of a solid player

Villian is 1do2den007 He is pretty solid but plays the early levels looser than most TAGs. For L1 and L2 he is 20/4.

Why on earth are you not betting this turn? He probably has 88 or something. Hard for him to put you on a K.

I'm starting to see a common theme in these in that you're trying to play way too much poker for sngs (imo). 98% of the pre-pushbot-stage sng-strategy is just get a good hand and bet, or know when you're beat and minimize the damage.

Looks good John. This line might get him to call with whatever PP he has.

A medium pocket pair is a huge part of his range. He knows I am a nit so I think he folds the turn if I bet. People just don't like to call a 2nd barell vs a regular on this board when I raised from EP. If you think about my opening range, what could 88 possibly be ahead of if I fire a 2nd barell? So I figured the best way to get a few more chips from him was to check the turn, make it look like I had AQ, and then lure him into calling a few chips on the river.

Suzzer, vs a good regular that you play often against, I think these plays make a lot more sense than vs an unknown, where your advice applies almost always.

A good solid regular isn't going to call very often with PP < QQ when John (another solid regular) had raised in EP, cbet strong, and fires a second barrel on the turn vs that solid regular. I like a bet on the turn if villain thinks John will fire second barrels vs good players, but now you're 3rd/4th leveling and you said yourself that's outside of necessary SNG play.

Yep, I like it. This is the only way to get him to call another bet.

Agreed. I think you could bet a little more on the river though since your hand looks like air (like in the 300 range). NH

Yeah I can see him folding 88 etc. I was in the middle of a spyware crisis and didn't process it all. I still see him having a very hard time getting away from JJ+ though. He could easily put you on 99 or something and you think you're good.
