So, Harrah\'s sucks, but we can\'t quit the series, so what do we do?
 

1) Harrah's has effed up everything possible this year.

2) The series is the series and there's too much damn value and prestige and blah, blah, blah, so we're going to keep playing.

3) So, now what do we do?

I personally will not ever play a cash game or gamble at a harrah's property anymore. I will also continue to raise public awareness of the crap that is going on. I will not travel to nor play any more circuit events.

Is there really anything else we can do? I mean, it would be great if say, the WPA bought the series and then ran it as a non-profit event. Or if Jack Binion bought it back. But, even then, so much marketing would be lost, it may even be a -EV play if it came out of a major corporation's hands.

Someone should make the 'world championship of poker' that would take place during cooler months in Vegas. It could be run by a council of top poker pros. Get a deal with another major network to promote it.

Besides that, not much can be done.

According to this NVG thread Harrah's, (at least in its present form), won't own the WSOP next year.

If you read the thread I linked there is a deal in process to buy out Harrah's. Jack Binion is involved.

should be different than wsop....
I'm thinking it might be neat to see some experimenting done with poker....something like a poker league with tourneys all around the country which not only pays cash but exemptions to a championship later in the year...kind of like the PGA where people wouldnt be allowed to play in the World Championship without earning exemption points. Could be fun..
