what\'s the acceptable loss amount with TPTK to a setminer?

as the title says

if you both had full stacks (say 100$ in a NL100)
if i raised with for example, AK, get a caller,
you hit TPTK, the 1 other opponent hits a set,..

how much is an acceptable loss amount in these situations?

I guess same question applies when you raise with AA or KK, and the board is K high (or queen high for KK)

if your opponent hit a set, how much are you willing to forego and pay him off by pot controlling?

Well, if I know they hit a set, I wouldn't be willing to put any money in the pot....

depends on the board, position, betting pattern, recent table image, past history v opponent, and how much of a setminer the villain is

this is a really crappy question w/o a hand

basically going broke w AK tptk isn't bad at all... in general

going broke A7, pair of 7s is usually bad

but in general tptk is the nuts against average villains if you bet, bet, bet, but it's air vs. a passive set miner who raises you

post a hand

do you really think someone is going to say 33 dollars? the reason you're willing to invest money in the pot with something like tptk is because you beat a good part of their range. just because the villain showed u a set this time has no bearing necessarily on how you played the hand, and therefore the g bucks you earned.

It depends exactly how nitty he is but If you get c/r on the turn then i'm generally throwing it away.

You dont usually want to be playing big pots against nits without a monster because he's usually got you completely smoked when the big money goes in.

5.3 BBs, as long as villain is exactly 11/0.7/0.2. Otherwise however many BBs you have in your stack. Seriously, this is dependent on so many variables. If you've got a true nit, IE he never raises the flop with a draw, and the flop is like K85 with two of one suit, you should fold AK to a raise.

something like 16-22bbs if he has extremely set-miny tendencies after 200+ (preferable 500+) hands.
