schengen visas

How easy is it to extend your shengen visas from within the countries? I wanna stay an extra 2 months, but that will go over my original 90 day visa. I will probably be studying spanish for that time, so would getting a student visa be the route to go? Can i fly to a non-shengen country to get another 90 days? Any info would be helpful.

I'm not sure about spain but I studied in Belgium for 6 months with a 90 day visa. You had to register for a residency card or else you only had 1 entry into the shengen zone. I registered but they never gave me the card. I still was able to leave and enter the shengen zone with merely an explination I was in the proccess. The shengen visas do not reset when you leave the zone.

You should find out what spain's exact rules are because you probably dont need another visa. From my experiance once you're in a country its much harder to get another visa.

If all else fails I'd say its 80% you could get away for 2 months being there illegally, especially if you dont plan on leaving the shengen zone.

when you leave you just go through US customs, they don't care if spain gave you a visa or not. The only problem I could see you having is if you got mugged or something and had to deal with the police, and even then I bet there is a good chance they wouldn't check your visa.

your biggest problem might be if your school checks, but if you're already enrolled I think you should be fine. It'd be worth checking with someone at the school you trust.
