once I get called on the river I'm usually shutting down. If I'm not shutting down I think its way better to double-barrel on the turn then to bet the river.

i felt i might be losing value from KT and 88 type hands while letting missed draws bluff me out if i check the river. or am i over thinking this?

As played it looks fine id prob value anything between 2-3 so it looks good. You can also try a check flop line and go from there, but overall niha

I dont have a problem with the way that you played it. At these levels he could have had anything. I think keeping the pot small and trying to get to a cheap showdown was the best way to play it.

No dont fold, c/c flop if it goes through v bet turn river. if he bets call flop and check /evaulate turn. most cases id call again and fold to a good bet on river, but generalizing in nl is bad.

If you get called on the river you're shutting down?? If you get called on the river it's the last card and it's over.
