hand 1:
you have odds to call turn vs. an overpair and he sometimes has worse hands.
i like the whole hand

hand 2:
nh, only pf is close but ok.

I don't like hand 1. If you're happy to get it in on that turn, I prefer c/c flop c/r turn. I think you have more fold equity that way and you don't mind him checking behind if you brick. If you make your hand you can play it however you want.

Hand 2 looks good.

1) bet / 3-bet is better.
2) fold preflop. check-call river.

Just cause we have odds to call on the turn after we get raised doesn't mean that it was good that we were putting in money on the turn when way behind.

Did we maximize our stack for FE?

really...what does your pokertracker have your EV at when calling 2 players one of them the UTG with small A-suited hands...it's marginal at best and likely -EV.

But I guess the river might not be so bad if you think the Villain is smart enough to put us on a bluff when he has a marginal hand which I don't think so given the Villain's bet sizes. Instead, I think there's about an equal chance that the Villain has a missed flush draw and we should check and induce a bluff / not lose as much when behind.

HAND 1:
What happens when you check-raise the turn and Villain calls and the river blanks are you pushing the river when you have little FE? Point is look at stack sizes, your line is pretty awkward. I agree OPs original choice was akward as well. Bet / 3-bet flop is better.

HAND 2:
(See my above notes)

HAND 2:
Can you explain why you want to raise his flop bet. I thought about this as well but came to the conclusion that calling is probable best. But I'd be curious if you'd want to explain more.

Here are my thoughts:
- UTG is still left to act...yikes.
- If we raise and get called our Ace is no longer likely good.
- If we raise and get pushed on, depending on who does the pushing, we'll likely have to fold.
- We're getting a good price to draw and DON'T want to raise out a lower flush draw.
- If villain has middle pair or less, we still have over 50% equity, so I'm fine with taking a passive route (not sure if this makes sense, but it does in my guy somehow...not sure what that means...meh).

You're right that we're obviously behind on the turn, but since we have a strong draw it's not soo bad if we get called or raised and i felt that hero had some decent FE against villians range here.

I dont understand your "maximize stack" question.

1) bet/3-bet

I usually take heros line and c/r to get his auto-c-bet.
It would be interesting to think about which line gives us more FE against him in case he's got something: c/r F; lead T or bet/3-bet F and if the later one does if it makes up for the times we earn a c-bet with c/r-ing.
