10/25 at Rio

After I bustoed from the WSOP today.

10/25nl, a new game just opened. I had been chatting with the villian before everyone sat down and he told me he had been playing professionally at 5/10nl live games in Indianapolis. He said he "plays on Stars sometimes but he can't stand the suckouts".

He was also whining about how Bodog was rigged and how bad he had been running recently....

We had been at the table appox. 20 minutes and almost every pot had been opened by the guy to my direct right with 20k in front, or me with ~9k in front.

Folded to me in the CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I raise to 100, villian calls otb w/ 1800 behind(he bought in for 2k). This was the first pot he had played.

Flop: 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I bet 200, villian calls.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Hero?

from my massive 2 days of experience playing 5/10 around rio/bellagio, live pros like this are going to be much more straightforward weak abc on the turn and river than tough online shorthanded sickos... how does it sound to bet like 350-450 and safely instafold to a raise. if he calls i guess u gotta check river UI just about always, then have to make a decision if he bets, and it'll prolly be a close one since he can easily play miss draws like that sometimes but also may sometimes slowplay big hands on flop/turn despite the board drawiness. but i think it'll go check-check on the river with u winning often enough to make this line best overall with balance between getting value, not being put in tough spots and losing the least when beat

Bet into him for say $400, probably fold to raise...

Bet $375 and insta muck to a raise seems like the best and only line here.

i dont understand why a player as described wouldnt make the pathetic play of check/raising turn with JQ or club draw, insta folding might be handing money away if raised. If you think that the c/c, c/r play means set 100% of time then thats a leak

FLM,

We're out of position. No one is check/raising. And from the discussion before the hand, it's clear that this dude is a donk. Donks don't smooth call the flop and then raise the turn with a hand worse than TPTK.

Assuming we bet $350 and the villain calls is there ever any value in betting $400 and folding to a shove on a 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] river or does this guy never have JTs, A9s, or KT? Or conversely, does this player bluff-raise too much (I know that its rare but we will be getting sick pot odds) with AcKc on the river for us to bet/fold?
